FreshStart is a supported housing project for Priority & Prolific Offenders aged 18 - 65 years. The accommodation consists of 10 furnished bedsits with a shared lounge. Additionally we have a small gym and room to provide an additional games room and workshop, as well as laundry facilities.
The staff team consists of:
1 Project Manager
1 Deputy Manager
3 Project Workers
2 Part Time Project Workers
3 Night Workers
At FreshStart, we:
- provide a secure place to stay for those who are attempting to re-establish themselves in a more regular and stable way of life
- provide an environment that promotes and encourages positive lifestyles
- provide support through individually tailored support plans, which aim to address issues that prevent successful independent living within the community
- work in partnership with the CJIT and other agencies to ensure service users can address their offending behaviours and substance misuse issues
- assist service users to gain or maintain the skills and confidence necessary for them to live independently and to make a positive contribution to the wider community
- allocate each service user a named Link Worker who will work with them through a Link Work programme. This will include regular meetings, identification of and working towards the service user’s goals and regular review meetings
- work in partnership with service users and supporting agencies to access education, job training and employment, as well as social and cultural opportunities
- provide an agreed plan for ‘move-on’ and resettlement
Our Referral Process
All referrals come directly from Cornwall’s Criminal Justice Integrated Team. All potential service users must be on the Cornwall Priority & Prolific Offenders Register and fully engaged with the related serviced provided by the Local Authority.
