Working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and other agencies such Social Services and Health and Education, we offer accommodation and support services to single young women and lone parents from the age of 16. We also have facilities for accommodating very young children and their mothers for a maximum stay of two years.
We have 10 fully furnished bedrooms on three floors with a communal sitting room and large kitchen/dining room.
Turner House provides 24 hour staff cover through a staff team made up of a Project Manager and a number of Project Workers. Each Project Worker has particular responsibilities for resettlement work.
Service users who are not working will have to pay a small charge for services not covered by Housing Benefit and they are actively encouraged to participate in the daily life of the project.
Project History
Turner House was officially opened on the 11th October 1990 by Eric Turner; chairman of St Leonards Christian Alliance. We are situated within ten minutes walk of the sea front at St Leonards and close to local facilities.
