Student Services

In addition to our supported housing projects, Chapter 1 also provides student accommodation in London.  Our Student Service sector offers a safe, friendly and caring environment for international students, housing them affordably and helping them to adjust to London life.

The students we accommodate come from around 52 different nations so there is a very lively mix of races and cultures.  South East Asia forms one of the largest representative groups (45%) but we’re likely to have students from countries anywhere between Austria and Zimbabwe.

Alongside the accommodation, we organise a range of social and cultural programmes to develop a healthy, positive community.   These may include tea/coffee evenings, boat trips, introductions to local voluntary sector organisations to assist in the local community and social, cultural or religious events.  We also provide advice to students on welfare rights and more localised information such as the provision of health and banking services in order to make their stay in London as comfortable as possible. Students benefit by learning about each other’s cultures, improving the community spirit, making new friends and reducing the risk of feeling homesick or isolated.

We pride ourselves on providing a safe, friendly and caring environment for all our residents
