I joined Chapter 1 in 1993 as Manager of one of the Exeter projects for single parents and their children.   After two and a half years I joined the central office team and had a role offering support, guidance and training to staff particularly in the area of support delivery.
Following a restructuring of the organisation in 1998, Area Managers came into being and I became the South West Area Manager, which covered the South West region, plus Guildford.


As the organisation has grown and developed I have had a number of different roles within the central office team but all have involved the delivery of support services. My current role of Operations Director involves the management and monitoring of support contracts and service delivery.  I also line manage the Training Manager, Get Involved Manager and Housing Management Manager and I chair the Health and Safety and Valuing Equality & Diversity groups. I work closely with the Area Managers to monitor and drive up performance and I am a member of the Corpo9rate Management Team working closely with colleagues to develop and deliver strategic priorities.


Prior to joining Chapter 1, I was a local authority social worker working with care leavers and children and families. Much of my employment history has been in a variety of residential settings, including local authority children’s home and a secure unit. I am also a trained counsellor and Life Coach.
