Martin Batstone - Chaplain

Martin Batstone

I am by Ordination a Methodist Minister and in each of my Circuit appointments I have had a Chaplaincy function. In Stafford I was a University Chaplain and in Mid-Sussex I was a Prison Chaplain. Both experiences were where I was, in my eyes, most effective and I was privileged to have the chance to become full time Coordinating Chaplain at Lewes Prison in 2004.

I am delighted that I now have the opportunity to share in my role as Chaplain, with a wider group of people and support the work of the projects around the country. I hope that I can seen as a resource to staff and services users alike and further develop what it means to work and live in a faith based organization.

I am married to Helen and am the proud dad to two boys, James & Kieran. In my spare time I enjoy watching and participating in Sport. I am a life-long supporter of Hull City and still play in my local football league on a Saturday afternoon. You will find that I can talk about faith or football with almost equal passion!
