Q. Who can stay at Xenia?
A. During term time we can accommodate you as long as you are:
- 18 or over
- A student studying full time and are registered at an accredited Educational Establishment OR you are a student conducting a work placement course as part of your studies.
During the Summer, anyone can stay at Xenia. Please see the short stay page for more information.

Q. Can I have overnight guests?
A. Yes please refer to Section 4.7 and 4.8 of the licence agreement in 'The Legal Part' Tab.

Q. Do I need to be back at Xenia at a certain time each night?
A. No. This is your home, so it’s up to you when you come in.

Q. Will my room be cleaned?
A. You are responsible for keeping your own room clean. It's Xenia’s responsibility to keep the communal areas clean. Once a month Xenia cleaning staff will clean your en-suite facility (where applicable) and vacuum your room.

Q. Do you provide bedding?
A. You can order a bedding pack on the application form for £35 and when you arrive at Xenia, your pack will be in your room when you arrive (Applicable to: Long Term Stays Only, 39/51 weeks).

Q. Do I need to pay council tax?
A. No.

Q. Is there a telephone and television in my room?
A. There is a telephone in each room which can receive incoming calls. To make any outgoing calls you will need to open an account at Reception. Xenia does not provide televisions in the bedrooms.

Q. Do I need a TV Licence?
A. Yes, if you watch television in your bedroom. All 'homes' in the UK require a television licence and your room is treated as a home under the licensing authority's definition. There is a large screen television with Sky in the lounge. For IPTV, you will need a licence.

Q. What happens if I cancel my booking?
A. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions of Booking.

Q. Where do I collect my keys?
A. After you have completed your booking and paid your deposit you will be able to collect your keys from reception when you arrive to stay at Xenia.

Q. Is there security on site?
A. Yes, Xenia has CCTV cameras surrounding the building and a member of staff will be on site each night and during weekends.

Q. How long is the long term licence?
A.
- 39 Weeks: Starting on 10th September 2012 - 9th June 2013
- 51 Weeks: Starting on 10th September 2012 - 1st September 2013

Q. Is there a charge for paying by credit card or debit card?
A. There is a 2.5 \% charge for paying by any credit card or international debit card. UK/European Debit cards will incur a £0.50p fee.

Q. What documents do I need to bring when arriving at Xenia?
A.- A copy of your university or student identity card, or letter indicating you are a full time student
- Your passport
- Your visa

Q. What do I have to pay before I arrive?
A.
A £450 deposit and £25 non-refundable booking fee. Your £450 deposit is refundable to you at the end of your licence providing no damages are incurred and you do not owe Xenia any money.

Q. How will my deposit be returned to me?
A.
A final inspection of your room will be carried out prior to you moving out and your account with Xenia checked for any monies owing. If any deductions are required these will be discussed with you. Within 28 days after the end of your licence, your deposit will be returned to you by bank transfer minus any deductions if applicable.

Q. How do I pay my rent?
A. You can pay:
- online through the student portal with a credit or debit card
- at reception with a credit or debit card
- by setting up a direct debit once you become a resident
- by making a bank transfer
Payment dates are specified on your licence agreement.

Q. Can I choose who I live with in a twin room?
A. Yes - If you know who you want to live with already, let us know on the application form and should there be availability we will do our best to match you with your friend or relative.

Q. Are there communal areas?
A. Xenia has 2 student lounges with comfy seating and Sky Television. There is also a large patio area, IT study rooms and 2 large conference meeting rooms available for hire at a discounted rate for students. We also have a games room for you to enjoy and a communal laundry room. Tokens for the laundry machines can be purchased at reception.

Q. Is there Car Parking and Bike Storage at Xenia?
A. Unfortunately due to our city centre location Xenia has no parking facilities but can offer a limited amount of bike storage to students.
