2nd Chance takes first price
30 JUN 2011
Chapter 1's Furniture Re-Use Project, 2nd Chance, won 1st prize at Nuneaton's Carnival parade.
The carnival has been held every year since 1930 and has raised thousands of pounds for local charities. In spite of the rain both audience and partakers seemed to enjoy themselves. The great number of people standing on the pavement watching the parade were generously filling the buckets of the money collectors, amongst whom were town MP Marcus Jones and also Nuneaton and Bedworth's Mayor, councillor Neil Phillips.
The best overall walker prize went to the 'Goodies' inspired bicycle from 2nd Chance Furniture Re-Use, and Jamie Bolstridge and Sharon Tasker, also from 2nd Chance, were judged tops in the fancy dress category for having John and Yoko in a moving bed.
