Mingle in the Mews - Chy Lowen PSL

Tenants and staff alike got into the festive spirit at Tolcarne Mews in Newquay, it was an opportunity for all the residents to get together and for some to meet and greet for the first time.

Chapter 1 took over the leases on the Mews in October, from Sanctuary Housing, a long awaited opportunity for the Chy Lowen PSL to provide long term tenancies for two and three bed family needs in Newquay.

The event was organised by service user reps Dayna Ward and Angie Powell, and was an opportunity for all the residents put their questions to Chapter 1 and make suggestions for future improvements on the Mews making a better community environment. Angie’s husband Martin, a chef by trade, made sure we all kept warm with a copious supply of hot dogs, burgers, soup, and warm drinks, soon everybody was getting into the festive spirit and the Mews was truly Mingling! Almost all of the 17 families participated along with friends, children and partners, it was a good turn out.

Once the mingling had reached its peak it was time for the highlight of the evening, 20 Chinese lanterns each a meter high released into the crisp and starry clear December night sky, it was truly a sight to remember as the burning lanterns each carrying a personal wish to the heavens, gracefully drifted out to sea

The first Mingle inn the Mews was truly a success helping to create a cohesive and friendly community, and no doubt it will be an annual event.
